Parachute Adams
If there was only one dry fly pattern available, this would be it. Blue Wing hatches? Substitute your dubbing for a BWO imitation. Pale Morning Dun? Again, swap out your hackle to a Medium Dun and your dubbing to a Pale Yellow and you have yourself a PMD. Same can be said for the Purple Haze. This fly is an amazing starting point for any parachute style fly. The ability to swap out for a Klinkhammer hook and utilizing the same materials, opens up a variety of ways to tie very similar bugs without straying from various patterns.
