MEDIUM ROUND RUBBER LEGS
Medium Round Rubber Legs are not too thick, not too thin, just right for adding lifelike movement to everything from tiny nymphs to burly bass bugs. These legs wiggle, pulse, and generally refuse to sit still in the water, which is exactly what you want when you're trying to convince fish that your fly is alive.
Why Round Matters
Round rubber legs move differently than flat or barred legs. They create a more natural, three-dimensional wiggle that mimics the movement of real insect legs, shrimp antennae, and crayfish appendages. The medium diameter is versatile enough to work on a wide range of hook sizes without overwhelming smaller patterns or looking wimpy on larger flies.
Perfect For Tying
- Stonefly Nymphs: The classic application—legs that pulse with every drift
- Hoppers & Terrestrials: Grasshoppers, crickets, and beetles with realistic appendages
- Caddis Larvae: Legs that suggest life and movement
- Saltwater Patterns: Shrimp, crabs, and baitfish with wiggling accents
- Bass Bugs: Poppers, divers, and streamers that need attitude
- Steelhead Flies: Intruders and streamers with extra movement
- Woolly Buggers: Add legs for the ultimate wiggle machine
Bar Them or Don't
Use them straight out of the package for solid color legs, or grab a permanent marker and add bars for a segmented look. Either way works—fish aren't particularly picky about leg aesthetics as long as they move right.
Tying tip: Don't trim them too short. Longer legs create more movement and can always be trimmed down. You can't add length back once it's gone.
Available in colors ranging from natural to "fish have never seen this but they're going to eat it anyway."
