For over 3 decades we have been guiding and outfitting in Southern Alberta and on the Bow River. You will be hard pressed to find a staff of Guides harder working, friendly, knowledgeable and more professional then our Guides are. This experience only comes with years on the water, our guides spend as much time with beginners as they do with experienced anglers and are excellent teachers that will exceed your expectations and challenge even the most experienced anglers.
Mike Day
Owner/Outfitter
With over 3 decades of guiding and outfitting experience on the Bow River and other Alberta streams he now spends most of his time running the shop. On the odd occasion you will see him on the river “pulling sticks” but Mike is more likely making sure your trip runs smoothly. He will ensure you have everything you need to have a successful outing.
Paul Laframboise
Head Guide/Instructor
After many years of honing his skills on the Bow as well as many other Western Canadian rivers and creeks Paul has developed a passion for fly fishing rivaled by few, this is evident in the sheer number of days he can be found on the water guiding, teaching and fishing during the season spending every spare moment on his beloved streams. With his extraordinary patience and teaching background he has developed a loyal following of adventuresome Anglers with which he shares his enthusiasm and extensive knowledge of the sport and all that it has to offer.
GARRETT WILSON
Guide
Garrett has been fly fishing in Alberta since the age of 10. Along with his father he spent his formative years exploring the many rivers and streams in the Southern and Central Regions of the province. Having been raised within a short distance of the Bow River, he has over a decade of experience learning the subtleties of the large trout that inhabit this blue ribbon fishery. As an alpine ski racing coach since 2010 he will bring his professionalism and teaching prowess into the realm of guided fly fishing. Garrett is an eager guide looking to row or wade clients to successful days on the world class trout waters of Alberta.
Gavin Stookes
Guide
Gavin was born and raised in the Rocky Mountains of Jasper National park and as such his passion for the wild began from day one. Heading into his 6th season as a fly fishing guide on Calgary’s famous Bow River and the seemingly endless mountain streams in close vincinity, Gavin has found his niche. He brings a confident, patient and energetic approach to guiding his clients. Gavin spends the majority of his spare time with his amazing partner Nicci and their Labrador Olli in the Alberta wilderness. From fly fishing, wing shooting, big game hunting and backcountry camping trips, Alberta our way is a way of life.
